GO HOME: TLC 2017 (Preview)

Join me as I shout and ball at WWE TLC 2017 before it’s even happened!A couple of changes have been made to the card on account of members of the roster being off work due to “medical reasons”.

It still looks rather promising though!

#RAW #WWETLC

I’m seriously trying to appreciate a third women’s match being on the card (technically), although you could argue that it doesn’t count since it’s on the kick-off show……….I’ll just ignore that for now and I’ll keep smiling that they’re trying to make somewhat of an effort.Sasha Banks vs. Alicia Fox

These two have been hair-pulling and wind-milling each other for a few weeks now.  My guess is that Sasha will make the ever-so convincingly disturbed Alicia tap out so she can refocus on the title picture and/or develop her relationship with Bayley.

I resisted saying anything on my #OneHitOneShit piece this week, but I’ve noticed that nine times out of ten, WWE will pair up folk of similar skin tone and subliminally attempt to reinforce a division in our minds instead of mixing it up and showing everyone of every variation getting along, finding common grounds and then beating other people up together of course.

As well as this next contest being a rematch from Monday, the same episode of Vince’s Race Wars- erm….. I mean Monday Night Raw saw Titus O’Neil, Apollo Crews and Jason Jordan take on Elias, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson………just saying!Cedric Alexander & Rich Swann vs. Brian Kendrick & Jack Gallagher

I have a feeling that we haven’t even begun to see all of the tricks that Kendrick and Gallagher keep hidden up their sleeves, so I suspect some dastardly deed will lead them to victory.

Unless emulating the 1994 Royal Rumble casket match between The Undertaker and Yokozuna is taken into consideration, this next one’s a case of “you’re damned if you do and you’re damned if you don’t”.Asuka vs. Emma

So unless the entire women’s locker room interfere and destroy Asuka beforehand, I can’t see any way this match will do good for BOTH lasses.

Asuka needs to steam-roll through the division if we’re to buy into any of the hype WWE insisted on rubbing in our faces when they chose not to give us any kind of surprise with her arrival to Raw.

The longer her debut match goes, the less of an impact Asuka will have, but we also can’t forget that Emma is one of the roster’s top talents that fought for this spot and she shouldn’t be losing in squash match fashion either, especially when she doesn’t get too many one-on-one matches on Pay Per View.

Looks like we’re back to the perils of Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Dolph Ziggler booking again, folks!

Here’s the first of the changes to the show.  Despite me being optimistic and giving it a chance to do its thing, this feud being put on the shelf, for now, may actually be a blessing in disguise. This match has gone out the window since Bray has caught the sickness that’s been going around and WWE needed to quickly put something together to keep Finn busy.

Luckily, there’s a veteran over on Smackdown that can handle this task with ease.Finn Balor vs. AJ Styles

This is a really good call in my opinion!

Both guys are great workers, they know each other well and from the moment this was booked, everyone concerned would have been able to relax and stop worrying about this spot on the card.

The match will be decent no doubt and the internet buzz behind two original Bullet Club members will probably draw more attention than Finn and Bray going at it in make-up and drag would have ever hoped to.

The finish could go either way, I’m not fussed, as long as they put on a grand match.

We move onto #205NoseDive.Kalisto vs. Enzo Amore

What a shame.  A small part of me actually cared about the Cruiserweights not so long ago, even WITH Enzo at the helm; but now, thanks to that Pint-sized Power-ranger, Kalisto, I’m back at square one again.

¡Gracias!

I’ve no complaints about the women’s title feud and I think we could be in record-breaking territory.Alexa Bliss vs. Mickie James

I’m cheering for Mickie, but expecting Bliss to retain.

Mickie is keen for her seventh title reign and I personally think she’s earned it and should be given one last run with the belt.

Both lasses have put bags of effort into building up towards this bout and if given enough time and creative wiggle-room, I expect this to be something the other women on the roster will have to pay attention to.

The original main event was set to have everyone creaming their knickers from an overdose of nostalgia, memberries and big, sweaty men.  However, the same illness that’s afflicted Jojo, Bo Dallas and Bray Wyatt has taken Vince McMahon’s favourite toy, Roman Reigns out of the equation. With The Shield now being incomplete, WWE needed to give the fans something else that’s as nostalgic (if not more so) as wet hair and SWAT jackets, if that’s even possible.

I don’t know how they came up with it, but no hair and a singlet won the vote when they decided on the antithesis of Reigns by un-retiring KURT FREAKING ANGLE!Ambrollins & Kurt Angle vs. The Mizterons (Five-Piece TLC Meal Deal)

So, for the first time in eleven years, Kurt Angle returns to a WWE ring!  There goes my theory of them saving him for an epic encounter with Daniel Bryan come WrestleMania season.

I think I’m more excited about this match than I was before.  I’m just hoping that Kurt doesn’t feel like he has to go all Shane O’Mac and overcompensate with an over-the-top, life-threatening spot just to prove that he’s still got it and that he should be there.  Sure, work hard, but no one wants to see you crippled, mangled or killed.

One would assume the faces are set to go over here, but I wouldn’t be surprised if that changes since The Shield’s reputation isn’t properly on the line anymore and Kurt has no real motive to go to war with his five opponents other than him being a good boss, rolling up his sleeves and helping the lads on the shop floor get the job done while they’re short-staffed.
